Hello,

About

20091206073415_25829.jpgNEW PREDICTIONS INDICATE WE WILL LOOSE 33,000 SPECIES OVER THE NEXT 10 YEARS. Odd that the only wilderness left on this planet of ours is where man is unable to sustain himself.Odd that the man who likes to wander in these places is called a vagrant. But the man who fells trees for money is called an entrepreneur.
Man has left quite a footprint in the last few decades..EXTINCT 270 species from the oceans and coastal regions..EXTINCT 343 species from rivers lakes and wetlands..EXTINCT 565 mammals, birds and reptiles from terrestrial ecosystems..ALL GONE IN THE LAST 25 YEARS . ONLY WHEN THE LAST TREE HAS DIED AND THE LAST RIVER HAS BEEN POISONED;WHEN THERE ARE NO MORE FISH IN THE SEA OR BUTTERFLIES FLYING FREE; WILL PEOPLE THEN REALISE THAT THEY CANNOT EAT MONEY?????....
The world we live in is a crazy disfunctional place being destroyed by our needs and greeds. When 4000 billion dollars a year is being spent on supplying weapons to countries throughout the world, it really makes me wonder how clever the human race is.We don't seem to realize that by destroying nature we are ultimately destroying ourselves. It would be a great gift to the world if some of this wasted money was diverted into saving our precious planet and all things that live on it.But man is a fool and I think he will not learn until its too late.

We have to realize that we are only a small part of the web of life and whatever damage we do to that web we do to ourselves. A NOTE ON FROGS I am involved in the conservation of frogs, they are bred on my property in special breeding ponds and released when mature enough to habitats where their numbers are low.
Frogs have been on this planet for some 200 million years. They even survived the catastrophy that killed of the dinosaurs. But thanks to climate change bought on by worldwide deforestation, wetland reclamation, acid rain and the over use of pesticides they may not survive another generation of human mismanagement on a global scale.Only a small percentage of people are heeding the warnings that nature is giving us and I tend to think that the rapid decline of frogs is a foreboding of something far more sinister than we can imagine that is yet to come.
WE THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD ARE CONSUMING FAR TOO MUCH FOR OUR OWN GOOD.WE IN THE WEST ARE WALLOWING IN SO MUCH AFFLUENCE THAT IT IS LITERALLY MAKING US ALL SICK..EG OBESITY..CANCER..DIABETES......DEPRESSION IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMON DISEASES IN THE DEVELOPING WORLD.NO DOUBT THE DRUG COMPANIES WILL SOON BE MAKING MILLIONS ON PROZAC IN POOR COUNTRIES .TO FEED ALL OUR CRAVINGS WE HAVE MANAGED TO BURN MOST OF EARTHS OIL RESERVES.NOW THE OIL ADDICTED GOVERNMENT OF GEORGE. W. BUSH AND NOW OBAMA IS MOVING ITS SUPER ARMY AROUND THE GLOBE IN AN EFFORT TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE LAST DRIBBLES.IN ITS WAKE THE US MILITARY AND ITS ALLIES LEAVE A TRAIL OF DESTRUCTION THAT KNOWS NO BOUNDERIES AND FURTHER UNDERMINES ECOLOGICAL SECURITY.STRIVING TO UPHOLD NATIONAL SECURITY, THE UNITED STATES IS WEAKENING EARTHS NATURAL SECURITY.IT SHOULD CONCERN US ALL.WHATS WORSE IS WE CANNOT EVEN TURN OUR GAZE TO THE SKIES FOR MOMENTARY RELIEF.THE SPACE PROGRAM OF THE US AND ITS COMPETITORS,THE IRAQ WAR,AFGHANISTAN IS SERIOUSLY AFFECTING OUR ATMOSPHERE.ADDING CONSIDERABLY TO GLOBAL WARMING AND THE DEPLETION OF THE OZONE LAYER THAT PROTECTS US FROM COSMIC RADIATION.IN A FEW GENERATIONS WHO WILL EVEN KNOW THE TRUE MEANING OF HEAVEN????

    Hello Birte

First let me say your photography is exemplary.

Now, as I dash past your portfolio I am dropping off a copy of the first video tutorial.  Cyrus is making them, loading them to you tube and then to the appropriate forum.

oh, I see you belong to MIMS.  If you are here right now and not travelling, there is a discussion on one of Christopher Schlaef's photos in MIMS.  I am sure your opinion would be appreciated in the discussion.  :-))

Here is the video... more to come... Enjoy.

PS:  I think our Cy would appreciate some feedback on his video in the forum too, if you have time.

    cheers
